The Battle

Jayy

Depression is smiling everyday
That no one sees
What’s behind
Depression is sleeping all day and night
Living in dreams
Constantly awake, won’t rest
Trapped inside
Screaming to be free
Free from pain, free stress, free from the mind
Isolating myself
Only make things worst
But the best way to be
Alone is where I reside
Still tryna hide
Hide from you, hide from me
Hide the truth
putting shots in my brain
To ease the pain
Depression kills those
Who we never think of
The ones that smile and laugh
Living life to the fullest

  • Comment from author about the poem: Mental health is a big deal. It will overtake ones who we never thought. Most people cover it well, wear their crown with ease not knowing just how heavy it is.
