Bittersweet Reality

dracology

Mother is out of the picture,
Father has favorites.
Sister is 18 and is allowed to do whatever.
She went camping overnight with friends,
I was waiting.
She came back and took my place.
I'm jealous.
My dad only chose one, she volunteered herself.
I was getting ready,
I'm jealous.
She just got to do something fun,
Why can't I go and leave?
I was waiting the whole weekend,
But she just crushed that,
What a bittersweet reality.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was waiting the whole weekend to do something with my dad, we had plans yesterday but those got canceled. My sister went camping and stayed the night with her friends. She just came back today and she's already leaving again. This poem doesn't really make sense, I just wanted to express how sad and jealous I feel.
