22.04.07 college years

lovebrigita

there’s something so special about typical college years
not that there is partying
or getting high the night before exams
or being away from parents
or living on your own
no
the years are special
supposedly
18 and you’re officially on your own
19 and you’re on the edge of iconic teenage angst
20 and you’re entering a new decade
21 and you’re not hiding any of the bottles like before
22 and you’re happy, free, confused, and lonely in the best way
then what?
college is over
23 is just another number
but for me
18 was just another number
so was 19
20 was too
i don’t get it
what did i do wrong?
maybe i’m just so used to being nothing new
