There once was a caveman named Uk
Who lived in the Stone Age
Unfortunately Uk was deaf
Which caused him lots of rage
Because Uk was so mad
He could not find a cavelady to bone
It was so sad
All the caveladies
Left him, deaf Uk, alone

Wondering how in his deafness, Uk dealt with sabre toothed tigers and other predators. Thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately, records from that period are spotty at best, so we can’t really know the answer to your question. Anthropologists have come to the conclusion that because of his deafness, Uk was unable to communicate with others easily. This led to everyone who he tried to talk to him saying ‘What, deaf Uk?’, an expression still in use today.
