I met the monster under my bed

Jessibella

I met the monster under my bed,
He admitted he gets inside my head.
His eyes are actually kind of sweet,
As some dark colors tend to be.

He said he crawls in through my ears,
Wrecks my nerves and feeds my fears,
Can see the world behind my eyes,
Makes dreary of the light blue skies.

I met the monster inside my closet,
He tiptoed toward the kitchen faucet.
Laid a knife at my feet,
And flashed a smile that wasn't sweet.

He laughed and said that i should use it,
Took the angel off my shoulder, And he ABUSED it.
I knew that soon i was doomed to lose it,
            This is not my life,
                I didn't choose it.

He said he has just one confession,
He prayed on my sure depression,
      After that he promised me,
That by my side he'd never leave.

I met the monster i met too often,
In fact he said he built my coffin.
I asked him what his name might be,
He laughed and said that he was me.
