Dad, I know your near me
And I know I’ve got your attention
Indecision has taken hold
I’m in need of your intervention
Questions compete for my resolve
Answers playing hide and seek
I’m listening to my heart
For your influence to speak
I might have thought I knew it all
While in my selfish youth
But now that I’m older
I know you were my source of truth
You always had my back
Even if I didn’t know
I hope you now see my respect
And my love for you shows
I’m trying to weigh out the factors
And determine the best choices
With family love I believe
In Heavenly voices
And dad, I need you to know
Just how much we miss you
Both you and mom
And how very much we love you

A fine write AP.
Thanks Orchi. 😉
So beautiful and touching 🥺 we often disregard their words of advice but it doesn’t take long to understand that they were right all along! A good reminder to treasure our time with our parents💖Thanks for sharing!
And thank you for reading Judy. While young, I didn't pay a lot of attention to things my father said to me, but in his last few years it was finally sinking in. I just wish I had listened more when I was younger. But I guess I was too busy being me. 😏
