Cancer to me

Cancer To Me.

Do you know what's it like,

To watch life fade away,

To watch some one pass,

And them have no say,

To see them lose their identity,

And their function too,

Just sat there wishing it wasn't them,

It was you,

To feel anger in your fingers,

And to feel it in your toes,

But know that camouflage is key,

So the anger never shows,

To know that a man has,

Worked his socks off for years,

He's fell in love, got married,

Combined his soul with hers,

For an early retirement,

And to live out his dream,

For a mere three months,

Before it's tore from the seam,

To see him flying above,

To come crashing so hard down,

To witness all hopes, joy,

Smiles and laughs drown,

To feel the anger come back,

Now it's even in your teeth,

You've no knowledge of how,

You handle this grief,

But you know two things,

And they keep you going,

One that the anger can never be in your eyes,

For then it's showing,

Your eyes must show strength,

To help keep him fighting,

So you mask your pain,

Within this here writing,

You understand the gravity,

Of the war he is to embark,

So you stay introvert,

And only cry alone in the dark,

You're role is to be the strong one,

Stay calm, you know the score,

You have to be the foundation,

Because he can't anymore,

And two no matter how much,

The anger builds inside,

No matter where you go,

Be it far or wide,

No matter who you meet,

Or who reads this sheet,

No matter how the anger travels,

From your head to your feet.

I just need to say this poem started

With me asking you,

If you what knew it was like,

If you're reading I hope you never do.
