Firefly

JustMe_03

Silence in the night, the shallow river flows

Specks of light, the stars in the sky

Still brighter you shine, in the midst of my darkness you glow

A savior, an angel without a hallow

Without a name, without a sign

You come to me like a firefly

Is this only a beautiful dream, I ask

But oh no, this feeling cannot be a lie

Winter comes, you’re still by my side

Still the same, untouched by time or season

Now I find myself waiting, drowning in this shade

Hoping like always -

Without a name, without a reason

You will come to me like a firefly

Is this all inside my head, I ask

But oh no, this feeling cannot be a lie

Older as I grow, you’re shadowed by the

clouds

Slipping into the darkness, of our shattered vows

You’re just a fragment in my mind, I realize

Now I will say goodbye, if that’s how it shows

You’re not forgotten, you still reside inside me

Even without a name, even without a shape

You will always be my firefly
