Unrecognizable

Roselyn

i saw you

the way you see waves caressing the sand

soft

present

careful

i saw you

this time different than before

the eyes of something sinister

the way you see waves crashing in a hurricane

violent

unforgiving

angry

a frightening scene

as if everything i thought i knew of you did not exist

forgotten only in a memory

i saw

anger

doubt

self loathing

...

but thats not my burden to bear

no

its yours

the bruises you left

they..

mean nothing compared to me as to what they will mean to you

i saw you

not for who you portrayed to be

but who you are

and oh that person

is terrifying, oh so terrifying

i saw darkness

darkness

unwavering darkness
