Two Together

Charles Edward York

The moment you saw me

Something took hold

A force of nature

Something so bold.

You saw me standing

As if oceans away

Walls built of sand fall

Before what you say.

Taking my hand now

Saying you understand

Breaking my resistance

All part of your plan

Picking up pieces

You made something new

Working your magic

I fell so hard for you.

Now my body and soul

Through marrow and bone

Now are under your control

Two together not alone

No more.

The music keeps playing

Lights turned down low

Face to face gazing

Moving so slow.

The saxophone moans

Our feet keeping time

You softly whisper

You know you are mine.

I take your hand now

Cause I understand

Your persistance

For me was your plan.

Over white sheets now

Shining bright as the Sun

We make love

Two worlds into one.

Now my body and soul

Through marrow and bone

Now are under your control

Two together not alone

No more.
