The Lovers

sam_dc

Our paths were destined to cross
An unwritten agreement from a lifetime long ago
A contract to meet again
New experiences to share
An undying love that refused to be broken
The time and place unknown
Only the knowledge we will one day be together again
A fleeting glance
An unspoken feeling
An inner knowing
A deep longing
It's him, I'm sure
The exterior is different, but the heart is the same
I'd know that beautiful soul anywhere
My soul mate has returned
We reconnect
Dance in the moonlight
Sit and watch the sunrise together
Bask in the glory of the midday sun
We revel in our daily lives anew
Holding hands, embracing
His strong arms and beating heart ignite an inner passion
Our lips meet
Our souls are entwined once more
Our promise to each other fulfilled
We knew this day would come
It was written in the stars
We're weaved together across the millennia
Destined to be together forever more
Then all too soon another lifetime passes and it's time to say goodbye
Memories and new experiences imprinted in our hearts
A lasting gaze
One final kiss to keep the flame alive
Until we meet again my love
For we will, of that I'm sure
