The heady aroma hits my nostrils
What is it?
I inhale deeply
Breathing in the enticing scent
I'm intrigued, captivated
She has my full attention
I want more
I take another breath and allow the chocolately aroma to gently infuse into my very being
Warming me, comforting me
I'm compelled to take a sip
The creamy liquid touches my lips
It tingles, theres a hint of something else there
My curiosity is aroused
I need more
I take a full mouthful this time and I'm transported to another realm
This rich decadent liquid is pure indulgence
I hold it in my mouth as long as I can
Swirling it around
Allowing it to softly caress my tongue
Feeling my senses come alive
I can't wait any longer
I need to experience this with every fibre in my body
I swallow
And then it hits me!
I feel it slowly make its way down my throat
It reaches my chest and boom, that's when the real magic happens
An inner radiance spreads out in every direction
Travelling quickly
Lighting up my body from the inside out
I'm glowing
Pure energy radiating from within
My heart comes alive
Fuelled by this nectar of the Gods
I can hear it beating
Feel every pulsating movement
My senses are heightened
They want more
I reward them with another sip
A longer one this time
This ancient medicine awakens a distant memory
One long forgotten by my brain, but not my soul
It knows healing is coming
It's a message from the ancestors
From those of wsdom, longing to share their knowledge
I drink it in, allowing this magic bean to ignite my insides
The energy is palpable
So real
I sit for a long time as the spirit of cacao dances within me
Twisting and turning
Rising up
Giving joy to my cells
My heart is bursting with love
I give thanks to Mama Cacao and the chain of supply that has led her to me
She has much to teach me
I have so much still to learn
It's a journey we'll take together
