Sleep at ten and up at six
Take a shower and caffiene fix
Any thought of change in routine
NO WAY, in the bud it's nixed
Choking collars, ties like a noose
Creased pants and shiny shoes
A wrist watch to be on time
Follow the crowd in threes and twos
Keep in place the slicked back hair
Sit straight in that office chair
Nine to five and then back home
The rules are set, don't you dare
WAKE UP, get out, take up the arms
Scream up a storm, beat down the walls
It's a new world, set new rules
Tell the world and rage against the norms
Take off the shoes, rip off the tie
Run outta the city, break free from society...

I think i will watch some Matrix
this weekend
spend a few hours, dodging
invisible bullets
to remind myself of the time's
when words, like yours
would have felt, so empowering
to read..
but sadly
at this point of a splintered heart
perspective, on life
I have come to realise, run
or escape, as far as we may
that mirror, tapestry
of soul crushing societal
disappointments, exist
everywhere and anywhere
since
we can't, outrun
ourselves..
so yes, we can escape
from those
who cause us pain
but, escaping boredom
or repetitions
monotonous routines
is a little harder, to accomplish
'in my humble, opinion'
best, maybe
to Awaken, ourselves
to those traits, within ourselves
that make us feel
like, there's something wrong
with normality..
that existing
without pain and suffering
is a burden..
once we get to the bottom
of those, truth's
then should we choose
to run, hide or 'Awaken'
we'll have a better chance
to aspire, towards
that which offers us, a glimpse
of that something more
we seem to be looking for...
