Is This An Arms Deal or Ambush?

MattDyer

Your mouth is a gun and it’s fully loaded

Best prepare for blowback

A crimson stain where the vessel once was

The body falls and we’re left with no alibi and lying eyes

The rooms we shared as sacred, now violated

A death wish for the dying relationship we held onto by a thread

Now the body is dead

Silence suffocates the air and I can’t breathe

Ring the death knell

This isn’t ending well

Guilty of murder, we were both caught in the act

I though we were ok, on that day the weather turned

The bullets came flying from your mouth

You left no survivors but there was only one target

A mess of blood and body

Another night for the shock the set in

Remember that night when we shared our hearts for each other

I thought nothing could change, no weather , no time

Bullets to the target and collateral damage

We may as well be savage

Do I share in the guilt or do you take it all

It was you pulling the trigger after all

The body breathes it’s last

We reap the consequences of the past

Behind bars of iron and bullet-proof glass

We were never arrested for the death

But we imprison ourselves in the wound left

Is this best to be forgotten or worked through

Our crime both with and against each other

We were guilty left with no alibi and lying eyes
