Marvelous

a thousand wishes

As the cold water hits my skin, I feel finally at peace

No more pulling short straws

I can reveal what's underneath my otherwise hard-shell exterior

I never thought I´d get to see something so marvelous

Something so unique but intent to startle us

I can admit I´m afraid but enraptured by this beauty

That makes me want to live day after day

Facing the possibility of being held in contempt

Facing the sun that shines so brightly

that it reflects off the lake

My vision is narrowed, only focusing

on the beauty of this water hitting my skin

Everything is so marvelous

this is true beauty being revealed to me

in the most perfect of ways

on the most perfect of days

I'm glad I got to see something so marvelous
