This may sound pedantic
Indeed it may just be semantics
But it is the panorama of the parental phenomenon
I can't complain
That suggests I regret
But I can moan.
Sleep is just an impossibility
Compounded by the need of responsibility
They ask for abundance when I only have adequate
Good enough
As my mother says
Is Good enough
But the joy they bring
It is worth more than anything
In moments of pride and passion and play.
Childhood innocence
As much as it is fiction
Encourages caper
Above all is love
A real and deep love.
Someone so small brings out such loyal lavishing love.
But I can still moan about matinal manure.
