Love Knot

lalalaEulalie

I fall in love so easily.

You might have been anybody.

It happened to be you.

The best of all virtue,

Honesty and truth.

A gift upon a platter.

But something was the matter.

Heaven sent for heaven's sake,

But I unwrapped a mistake.

Call me dumb or call me dull.

Butterflies and church bells toll.

The clang and the clash,

A souring in the pit.

Yesterday's gone to ashes -

We've lived the worst of it.

Tomorrow is a promise,

Etched upon our hearts.

Love is eternal,

And we're back at the start.
