ROTTING ROPE

[email protected]

I hold on to a hope so hopeless

Walking a tunnel with no light at its edge

I venture into a journey of darkness

The dark darkens with each step I take

And like a rope with rotting fibres

I break at the seams, second by second

Eventually, it snaps! So does everything in me

But I hold on to the piece of the rotting rope

Afraid of the emptiness that hovers if I let go
