Pocket

A.D. Small

Pocket

If I had one single pocket
I would turn this key to unlock it
I would cram in a rocket
And fly away from the world's shit

If I could shove all of my feelings inside
I would fill it full and wide
It would burst like a rip tide
And flow out from every side

I would push all of the world's hate over the edge
I would throw it off of a ledge
Stand over it and take a pledge
Then grow another hedge

I would let the moon shine over me
Dance in the glow freely
Laugh like I can't see
Then kiss you slowly

I would give this pocket to you
So you can make something new
Maybe you can build something true
And put it back on me with super glue

I trust you with my soul
You could make this thing whole
Building with you is my goal
But this pocket takes its toll
