lighthouse

Noah Malice

i see the lighthouse
shining in the distance
and i know where to go
thanks to that persistent

light over the water
a turbulent hunger
is all i have to push me
closer and closer

and the sea does not agree
with me though i keep
rowing on this road
changing constantly

the light in that tower
a luminescent power
shows in the darkest hour
it's enough when i'm alone

the light in this ocean
a truth to be spoken
a door to be opened
it's enough to bring me home

turning with the tide
blinking on this ride
it's enough just to show me
just to cast a little light

on the water
that rolls over...
