the miscalculation of time

H. Jordan

I found that most people would describe time

As a cruel mistress

As a revenge drivin enemy

However it seems to me that time is an oblivious child

Playing tricks on people

Like speeding up the good moments

Slowing down to boring ones

Not truly realizing the fact

That he is dragging everyone to their inevitable end

So stuck in his own head that he doesn’t see

That everyone around him either fears or despises him

He instead thinks we are all his friend

Laughing along with him

    Good write HJ.
Yes, time seems to speed up when we're enjoying ourselves, and slow down when we're not, or when there may be various troubles.

time does seem to change with circumstance doesn't it?

what a kind way, to look at it
      and somehow, it helps - I think;
      like
when a kid kicks our ankles
      we fist look down, raging
      then smile, knowing
      they just wanted our attention
lonely, they do what they can
to have us play with them, even
if just for a short while...
(a wonderful read, thanks for sharing
      dear Poet)
