The Affair
It wasn’t his good looks that brought on the affair
It was his attention to detail that led her there
She wanted someone kind and not mean
Someone who would make her feel seen
It wasn’t the physical, that part was great
She was looking for someone with whom she could relate
A man who supported her aspirations
A man who doled out affirmations
It wasn’t physical love that led her away
It was emotional care put on display
Because what we all want is someone to care
And that is what drew her to The Affair

Relatable. Nice expressions.
I always felt
affair's, needed more nuance
and range of labels..
some, are just that
'an affair
a momentary weakness to a passing whim'
but other's
are, SOS cries
hands, reaching out - to anyone
from beneath suffocating, circumstance..
ergo
while all affair's cause, heartache for someone;
some, affair's
literally
save, lives...!
(just such an empathetic, take
on a topic
most consider, black or white
and thus
beyond, any need to sympathise
with)
a polished write! dear Poet
