you

H. Jordan

I’m pretty sure that’s impossible to feel nothing for you

I’m not sure how I did it before

I could’ve sworn there was a time

When you were nothing but a name

Instead of the thunderstorm of pain, regret, and betrayal

        (yup
        funny, when we trace
the trajectory of our past relationships
        what was once, irrelevant
        soon became, our all-consuming reverent
        and then, as inevitably
        as monsoon rain
        we become suffocated
by the humidity in our connection
        and drenched, in belated regret...)
        so true and relatable
        another great read, dear Poet
        thank you!
