Forgiveness

pcbain

Now that I am older

I realize I have caused you some trauma

Forgive me for my error

I learned that behavior from predecessors

Who I do not blame

For the cycle of pain

Inflicted by another who did not know better

We can end the dysfunction

When we choose to unmask

The phantom of our past

    So beautiful, pcbain!

I regret the trauma I have caused others, too. Maturity allows me to forgive myself. For their own sake, I hope they can forgive me too.

Thank you for sharing these humble thoughts. A most enjoyable read!

Excellent write pcbain, regret is one of the most maturing lessons in life. And learning to forgive others and ourselves is the contentment we all need. 😉
