Make Me A Faithful Husband

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

Make me a faithful husband

As my heart in its longingness seek

My soul in lack of its bond

My body in its desires is sick

Let my heart love no other woman

As your beauty heart to me you surrender

On you alone my attention will be drawn

Thus my heart to you only I will lender

My trust on you shall never fade

If your straightened ways shall ever remain

That in our stumbles it may be retained

For our love like the sun to never wane

As you are the joy of my life

So shall you be a cheerful wife
