Stapled Better

Martina- L.B.

Yes, I look fine. I am fine. I know that others have it worse.
I’m okay, I’m still together, my life is messy papers still on course.

There still together.

Stapled better.

A small piece of paper breaks when the staple goes through.

But I’m ok. Yes, I’m fine.

But my stapled-heart hurts when it looks at you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I lost my enthusiasm for writing and life but I am finally back after a year. Even though this is not my proudest work and was scribbled down during maths class it is here to prove to myself to just start and do it now. I am a very young writer so any advice is cherished and wanted.

Really good, actually. Love the stapled heart….

Thank you! It may be silly but this idea has been in my head for a while to the point I've stopped using staples and use paper clips instead. I'm glad I finally posted it.
