purge
imported his love from you
adopted your mannerisms
it’s so hard to kiss him when his lips have your dried skin
peel it off like it’s citrus
too acidic i could watch this all melt
and then hang you up on the coat stand as you watch our life unfold
your stench still lingers in the summer
and i’m trying to enjoy my afternoon tea
whilst he’s fishing through pond water
seperating tadpoles from their familes like i taught him
i blame you on the moss
i let it cover up and i won’t compromise as long as i’m enough for him
and when he wakes of bad dreams i call them night terrors
i make him unlearn the worst and place the term forever in me
whilst you hang beside the dog collar and his favourite black scarf
i perfume the house 8 times a month until he finally forgets
