lonely nights

Noah Malice

it was just a little moment
you had me crack open
and tonight i was hoping
for another one with you

like sitting in a garden
like a heart unhardened
the curling of petals
for one night alone

all things come in two
lovely days shine so bright
but the warmth and the love
deliver on lonely nights

when i'm only a half
a joke with no laugh
the woods with no path
but just the lonely moon

do you have nights like these
get lost in the trees
and cold forest breeze
or only me

'but the warmth and the love
    deliver on lonely nights

    when i'm only a half
    a joke with no laugh'..
    yeah, just so relatable
    its crazy to think
    some people, are so desperate
    whenever they're gifted
    a laugh or chuckle
    they'll choke it back, quickly
    as-if to save it
    for
    those nights, they'll need it
    just to get from midnight
    till, they finish counting
    satellites
    as stars
cos, that's all they've got left
to limit how much fear, seeps
    into their dreams...
(a great read and an important theme
    thanks for sharing, dear poet)

A brilliant expression Gon. Once you've been paired, and coupled rightly, it's not the easiest thing to be only half of a whole. The crazy thing is that there are times as well that even as part of a whole, together yet also feel lost and alone. It's quite a curious thing. Thanks for sharing.
