INTEL/

Matthew Kx

Under the sun, find
Sad intelligence
Crazy intelligence
That which sends one
Soaring into the pink sky
With no need of wings.

Cat intelligence swipes a paw
At our awry sense of self
While a funeral band's lullaby
Drifts in through the
Half-closed window.

Learning intelligence
Brings the knowing that
Defined thoughts
Can be made to cower
Set against your ability
To simply be.

Passing intelligence
Inhabits everyone
That you struggle across
Set at different volumes
From birdsong to bomb.

Let them climb down to you
And be not fooled by
Their graceful tongues
The ones casually ignored
By the wayward sky.
