Childhood

Hakikur Rahman

My mind is sitting there
by the side of the pond full of water lilly
My heart is residing there
within the row in the field of mango garden.

When it rains in the summer
we jumped altogether in the pond
roamed from trees to trees
looking for turtle nest.

On the winter day, on the date trees
taking away all the juice
With the evening falls
runaway to the village market.

Childhood memories
bewilder the mind
The good old times
still are in the memento.
