Tenderness

MendedFences27

Tenderness

When the weight of the world was heavy

she softly lifted his chin

and gave him a kiss.

When darkness clouded his mourning skies

she smiled as she lifted his chin

and kissed his lips.

When everything seemed against him

she smiled and tightly held him

while kissing his lips.

When he fell down and stumbled in life

she lifted his spirits with the touch of her hand

and her breath upon his lips.

Whenever he was sad or lonely

she comforted him with her nearness

and kisses upon his lips.

On those times when he made a fool of himself

she wrapped him in her nakedness

and kissed, and kissed.

Whenever he was feeling out of touch

she gave herself to him

and they kissed.
