The Cat Poem

Matthew Kx

I'm stepping over cool fur.
There's a ton of meaning
In the stream of dreaming eyes.

Forever caught between the paws,
We are purr-functory
Until awakened.

The cat, the emotion
Both mean much the same
When they call
There is arrival.

We feed them
And we are fed.
They look away again
And again.

My cat on this summer day
Is an ancient god protecting me
From myself.

Aww, so sweet, I really liked the “forever caught between the paws” line. We really are when it comes to our kitties.

I 'paws' a moment, and so do our two cats, to say good write M!
