Subtle

KRWonder

What’s the difference between
this 1979 pix and now?

Simply,

they hide the signs now

behind cold glares and snide remarks
as they look down their nose at a black man
the way they would a yapping dog;

and just like the old dog
taken out back and put out of his misery;
the gun only need to be raised
a few inches higher
to bloody the chest of another colored man
to put him out of his misery
of inferiority.

That new sign ain’t opaque enough
to hide the words written behind it.

These are dangerous times.

    Good presentation of the harsh reality of how colored people are treated to this day
