Heat

Atlas

I turned to my anger at every injustice.

A fearful emotion that ate my moments.

I burnt down everything I hate with that heat,

In an attempt to escape my fear of being weak.

I look around to find myself standing in flames.

Burning everything within reach,

Pushing my loved ones out to the edge,

They are no moths to love this heat.

Burning my skin with the hate,

Fueling thoughts with my own flesh.

Trying to hold on to the smoke and crust,

And learning to be at peace with this heat .
