Adoration

Delilah

You're wearing that soft look again

Smiling down at worn fingertips

Sifting blonde sand to dust

The salt of old memories

Still fresh on your tongue

I bathe in the warm glow

Of your well earned mirth

Tried by the chaos of time

Yet so unbroken and alive

You are forever gorgeous

You brilliant, obstinate thing

    nice to be appreciated
    but, like all things
    it takes elongated exposure
    to gain the experience
to know what to do with it..
    for most, life passes by
    with mere glimpses of it
    and so we never learn..
    (thanks for sharing, dear poet
really enjoyed the characterisation in your poetry
that gentle tonality and soothing wording)
    adoration, indeed
