Mercy

Hann

my soul has been lukewarm

but You embrace it with loving arms

I have been clutched by forces I disgust

but I turned to whom I trust

this cup has been empty

only thee has come and filled it justly

I was no longer a pity

for I have gained sanctity

it was with thy mercy

that I acted with piety

my thirst has been quenched

with thy love so immense

how I wish I could heighten

the blazing fire wire within men,

glad I discern this today

before the hour of my dying day.
