Calum Scott

Edward Charles McDevitt

Can't dance alone, cross your bridge, or be seen kissing boys in the street,

Am I the one? Heaven only knows. Perhaps one day we'll meet.

Lyrics filled with emotions that are pulled from my soul through you,

Under facades for many a year, I've lived all those moments, too.

My mother and siblings loved but my lifestyle they couldn't accept,

Strict Catholic father did both yet knowing those in secret kept.

Climbed mountains, swam oceans trying to seek the reason for being alone,

Once friends of steel, family of stone, abandoned now just skin and bone.

Tears from my eyes will be no more, I Pray for a Meet and Greet.

The House of Blues on August 28th, this man in the balcony seat.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have followed this artist from his debut on Britain\\\'s Got Talent in 2014. His music and lyrics fill me with such emotion as I have walked in the same shoes. I so want to meet this talented young man. Me being twice his age have learned from him. I on the other hand, just may be someone he can learn from as well. It\\\'s been quite a while since posting a poem. I hope you all enjoy.
