6th Sense

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Do you ever feel like you have a 6th sense
Can figure people out
Some feel relaxed, some intense
Our feelings always immense
Filling out the braincells
I just wanna help everyone
That's where my heart dwells
Need to help myself first
Find I'm getting there
Am I soft because I do care?
About others probably too much
More than myself
It's always been my crutch
Sorry crux
Yeah that's the one
Take me back diving in the Pacific Ocean
Fiji beach in the sun
I had no worries there not a care
Can feel things changing now
Started as a gradual tear
It's getting bigger and bigger
What am I talking about?
You try to figure it out
Handing out wisdom like a ticket tout

no, dear poet it's not being 'soft'
    for only
the truly brave and somewhat, sane
    can afford to care
    everyone else, is lost
    in their own mess, usually
    of their own making
to give a damn, about anyone else
    that doesn't benefit them
    in some way..
    so yes, we
    may feel like fools
    dishing out recycled, so-called
    wisdom
or merely, words of comfort (supposed)
    but, at least
    in our own, pitiful way
    we're trying to insure
these gifted life of ours, doesn't end
without us even trying to help..
and in that, there's reason enough
    to have some hope
    that our efforts, may
    in some way, find value
    and impact or better yet
    simply, be meaningful
to a complete and utter, stranger...
till then, its all just scribbling
    at 2am
    🍻😎
