Tom Wood

I’ve broken at the bottom of a bleak pit

And spoken too much now for your aid

The ultimate test of endurance and grit

Redemption’s debt has just been paid

But I didn’t start this to end up here

And before you hear me recommit

My journey has brought me a fear

That’s as consistent as Halley’s comet

It circles me in the freezing rain

It knocks at my door from inside

It’s aroma has left a dark stain

It knows I have nowhere to hide

So throw at me, oh, what you may

I promise I will live today

Despite what they may all say

I promise you I’ll see today

I promise
