Alone

jazzwa30

As a little girl,

You left me in this world alone

I had to survive on my own

Decisions I made you would not have condoned

Wealthy opportunities I have blown

Social gatherings I postpone

Instead  I patiently  wait for your call by the phone

Maybe one day you will finally come home

It speaks to me of a longing for what might have been, and patience in hope on so many levels, no matter how long we have to wait.

    it's so agonising, to witness
there is still, so much hope imbued in these words
despite all the anger, hurt and lingering resentment..
why do we seek the affirmation and attention
    of those who, Choose
    to abandon us...
(this is such an emotive and tender read
thank you! for choosing to share
    dear Poet)
