As a little girl,

Decisions I made you would not have condoned

Social gatherings I postpone
Instead I patiently wait for your call by the phone

It speaks to me of a longing for what might have been, and patience in hope on so many levels, no matter how long we have to wait.

it's so agonising, to witness
there is still, so much hope imbued in these words
despite all the anger, hurt and lingering resentment..
why do we seek the affirmation and attention

to abandon us...
