Mirrors

sorenbarrett

Think of God, isn't it odd that it looks like you?

The things we make our image does take, Christian, Hindu or Jew

If I was a snake my God I'd make to look like me

If I was an ant or a plant it would be a bug or tree.

Because I feel small, I make it tall so I can feel protected

When I feel bad I make it mad, then I'll feel corrected

Has anyone asked why, God closed the sky millenia ago?

Now you have to look in a book to find what you need to know

I've been told the book is old but many times updated

People do fight about which one is right, each by man annotated

Because I pray, all day and repent if I'm not pure

My God loves me more than my enemy, of this I am sure

So when I die I will fly, to heaven above

But my foe downward will go, sent by the God of love.

Man made god in his own image then flipped it. The rest is history.

Thank you, Dave, for digging back through my older poems and reviewing them. I'd almost forgotten about this one.
