Hidden Feelings

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

He keeps the smile in his heart

Letting the frown to appear on his face

Suppressing a wide smile from surfacing

That could have publicised his deep thought

When she walks she can claim all eyes

He likes stealing a glance at her

Oh how she looks she glitters

When she talks she flatters

I caught her gazing at him

He was very busy he didn't notice

She tapped her friend and pointed

They chuckled and went on their way

I heard from her friend

Of fancy stories she tells of him

She keeps telling her her dream

A man she must have as a friend

Yet when they meet in lonely streets

They pretend to be total strangers

Passing without saying hi -like an illusion

Deep down they are desiring and wanting
