Just when you think things can't get any worse! / or Rat in a trap !

Justa_Geezer

A young female rat went foraging,
In a human's house for food,
In the dead of night she wandered,
Not caring when or where she pooed.

Not realizing that she leaves a trail,
Everywhere, that by human's can be seen,
They can  follow round her nightly path,
To see exactly where she's been.

She avoided the humans bedrooms,
There was never anything there,
And parlour's were never any better,
Because no one ate food in there.

The bathroom was a waste of time,
It's where humans do their biz,
A complete and utter waste of time,
She soon removed herself from this.

The dining room seemed a better bet,
There's usually a crumb or two,
But the humans had hoovered up last night,
There was just one room left to do.

At last she got into the kitchen,
Where it never ever fails to give,
Either a snack or a full banquet,
A simple diet she needs to live.

She bypassed crumbs and vegetables,
In search of something far greater,
She never realised her trails of poo,
Would help these humans bait her.

Eventually she got to the cooker,
It was always a good bet for a meal'
There was loads of food behind it,
And she gulped it down with zeal.

She scurried around that cooker,
And behold, to her astonishment,
Was a lovely piece of chocolate,
For desert this must be meant.

This chocolate was just sitting there,
Heading straight for it, she never realized,
As she lunged and took a bite of it,
Oh boy was she truly surprised.

In her greed and haste she failed to see,
That it was there sitting on this trap,
That the humans had set up for her,
Just by following her trail of crap.

The trap sprung and it knocked her out,
When she came round she realized,
She was pinned down by her shoulders,
She was completely immobilized.

A big male rat later approached her,
And much to her utter dismay,
He said there was no chance to get her out,
There was simply just no way.

So, pinned down by her shoulders,
With her butt high in the air,
The big male rat behind her now,
Thinking, what a lovely derrière.

Feeling sorry, No, he just licked his lips
He was going to have, his wicked way
As he started, he whispered in her ear,
"Sorry darling, this just ain't your day"!
