Right All Along

Jasmine Swift

You know there aren’t a lot of people I can trust. But I knew I could trust you when my heart felt a touch.

By the second night, I was unsure about me and you. Did you actually want me? Was the love really true?

You know the past has torn me apart. But I’ll always remember you saying I stole your heart.

You didn’t know I thought all this was wrong. But next to you, I realized it was right all along.

Even now, I remember you holding my hand. I remember that song, and my lost hair-band.

When I held onto you, and every whispered word. And when I left with your favorite T-shirt.

You know the past has torn me apart. But I’ll always remember you saying I stole your heart.

You didn’t know that I thought all this was wrong. But next to you, I realized it was right all along.
