Remember When You Used To Love Me?

D. L. Cheshire

Remember when you used to love me,

Was a line we used to say…

We’d laugh

We’d smile

We’d joke,  it was so ridiculous

But now I ask, especially at night,

remember when

you

used

to love me?

It’s real

It’s hard

And it hurts

And

You

Feel

Nothing

Don’t you remember?!

  • Comment from author about the poem: When you breakup with someone, memories flood back. This was a joke we had and would say it often to one another. It’s ironic and deeply sad.
