Watching

parker

You lay sleeping
The scudding clouds
Turn the moonlight on and off
A pale limb would brighten and glow
The soft down giving a silver translucency.
While I watched my mind calmed

Your breath slow and regular
Setting a beat for my heart

I see the curves of your body
Melding and flowing into one
You turn and your face breaks free
Peaceful and calm
Reassured that you sleep
I watch and wonder

We laugh and smile together

Yet still you Sleep
I reflect on my joy
Reflecting your trust
I lightly stroke your shoulder
Amazed at the smooth warmth

I can be all that I am
With your love.
