The fifth degree

sorenbarrett

Skin red, burning to touch, peeling and such, pain of the first degree

Darker red skin, stinging wet blisterin, pain of the second degree

All layers affected, charred leathery textured, firey pain of the third degree

Gone into shock, no pain, unable to talk, deep tissue damage of the forth degree

This time the hole, burned clear through the soul, with guilt, remorse and misery

Forever you'll feel, a pain that won't heal, one of growing intensity

It's only in hell, that you will be able to tell, of pain of the fifth degree

Loving the compound and interactive metaphor here Soren. When we were kids, a short ways ago there was talk of getting the third degree for misdemeanours that were frowned upon even by the naughtiest of young people. But taking it to the fifth, that is an intensity and a world of pain that one would not wish for oneself of any other. Thanks for sharing.
