A new Tie

Toby Watson

Small changes in slow succession
For example
I wear a tie and it upsets them
A sudden change in demeanour and clamour
It upsets the order
Which wasn't there anyway
The uniform never arrived

A sudden shift in the atmosphere
Some land on my side and some remain confused
A slight break that causes questions, thought and difference
It's like a group of ants
All doing their job
But one decides to keep a morsel of leaf on it's tiny head

a great theme and I love that last line
    such acute imagery!
    you're obviously a gifted Poet
I look forward to reading more of your work
thank you! for choosing to share
    (and I so relate
some eyes are made for judgment and petty envy
    ... only!
and when they gather in gangs
well, it makes you despair and realise
    those Salem 'witch-hunt' trials
are never too far away from repeating themselves
    again n again)

Those last three lines ram it through with so much power! Thanks for sharing.
