That vast C of Perspective
Crazy, how far our future seems
Comparative to our horizon’s vistas
Crazy, that suddenness in our past
Curating our blinkered perspectives
Crazier still, is the time
we waste
Contemplating } than living…

Your words feel so real and poetic at the same time. Beautifully done Mek absolutely stunning!🤩
how kind, thank you dear Poet
With the poetry flew the real lessons…wasted more time on contemplating than acting…sure a jewel of words…
'a jewel of words' what a memorable compliment, dear Poet
thank you!
My pleasure dear Mek
The contemplative life that is filled with action, both within and outside of!
it's not for everyone, but
when utilised right, it can help curate
much brighter paths..
thank you, for engaging with my words
at that philosophical level, dear Poet
How true your words are. The older I get, the greater the feeling to act more and contemplate less. True words of wisdom!
just wish these shards of gleaned wisdom
came to us a little earlier in life, lol
thank you! kind Poet, what an encouraging comment
True words Mek.
Andy
thank you, Andy
So telling these words Mek on the dangers in too much contemplation.
'too much', that's the key really dear Fay
we need to borrow the mindset of Spinoza
'temperance in all-things, including temperance itself'
(when at a traffic jam, we can just choose to cruise at a steady pace
we don't have to come to a stop and restart every few minutes;
similarly, we can choose to contemplate life
while still living it, at our own pace! lol)
this whole nihilistic giving-up at any obstacle, trend
doesn't sit well with me
in Keats' words, 'life must be undergone'
so we soldier on!
Exactly. Many of us wilder in the past rather than living in the present. Great share.
Amen!
and thank you, dear Poet
A beautiful and well composed poem that contains so much truth. The closer to the end I come the less time I have to waste and contemplation is not the best option. I wondered if all the lines beginning with C could be taken for "see" as in "I see" or contemplate? Sometimes I read too much into things.
no you read it perfectly, it's 'C' as in Sea or See and etc
and yet there's only one 'C' in perspeCtive
we just Cling to it, too much.. lol
(thank you! for your insightful comment dear Poet)
I agree with you completely. Indeed we are crazy people.... sometimes we achieve in our craziness while other times we miss. Beautiful.
so true, we all need a little crazy
to help us survive modernity... lol
thank you! dear Poet
true. I second you.
Another jewel of wisdom encased in a minimum of words. It begs the question as to what is the difference between contemplation and dreams.
But contemplation is living! No?
Wonderful verse.
JP
indeed, dear Poet it is a vital 'Part' of living
just that, we don't need to press a pause button
while we contemplate, is the unsaid in my meaning
some of us get too caught up in our musings at times,
(this coming from a wannabe poet like me) lol
and thank you! glad you enjoyed the read
The distance of the future, the suddenness of the past... This is stunning, sad but true. Thank you so much for sharing!
glad you enjoyed the read and could relate, dear poet
thank you!
This is absolutely beautiful
I do feel like I contemplate for too long
yeah, sometimes we just need to draw a line
and move-on, 'life waits on no one!' lol
glad you could connect with these words
thanks for the encouraging comment, dear poet
