Love Is...
Limitless in what it can achieve…
Ever expanding as it changes and adapts…
Has no biases or sees what “isn’t” different…
When fails, it conquers and endures…
Defeats hate when its absence prevails…
Rises above the trivialities of the world…that have no affirmation to it…
Creates pain and joy, so we discern what does matter…
Makes us cry to know the joy of a first breath…
Makes us cry to hear the last breath…
Makes us cry when hearts break…
Makes us smile so hard it hurts when we find the one…and they say yes…
Brings us to our knees when we can’t ease the pain of another…
Stops and humbles us…when we add to the pain of others…
Allows us to forgive when forgiveness is forever lost...
Makes us open our eyes and rise when all reason for living has been defeated...
Stops us when the end is all that we perceive…
Sustains us with its purity so we can sustain…
Breaks us as we try to break others…
Heals us when we believe it will never come again…
In a stranger’s smile, that softens the sadness...
The worthiness of who we are and what we will aspire to be...
The reason we are alive…
